Kentucky Lock - Various Diving Services

MER Commercial Diving Division was awarded the contract to provide various commercial diving services during the Kentucky Lock Expansion Project at the Kentucky Dam. These services included core drilling and hammer drilling to set anchors, dowel rods, etc.; installing and adjusting post-tensioning rods to secure concrete monoliths; jetting and dredging sediment from the river bottom, bedrock removal with hydraulic splitters and hydraulic saw cutting and chipping; inspecting foundation clearances, substrate, and tremie and dental concrete placement; prepping spud foundation by constructing form boxes and placing grout and sand bags; sealing concrete monolith shell foundation using cushion form and sand-filled super-sacks, and hand cleaning the bottom of the river bed by placing rock and debris in skip pans. This was a USACE-Nashville District project.
