Mainstream assisted a directional drilling contractor during an intake installation project. This was a high altitude, deep water diving project involving the use of company-owned decompression chambers. MER Diving worked from a floating work platform that was locked into the ice. A large part of the diving was in very cold water, and divers utilized units which pumped hot water to the diver.
MER Diving also fabricated a heated shelter and dive station to protect the topside crew from the harsh elements and also provided outdoor heaters. MER Diving successfully completed the diving portion of this project after two other diving companies were unable to complete this project.
